At the Weald of Kent we are committed to ensuring that the needs of our students with SEND are understood and met through inclusive practice. The Learning Support Team work closely with these students and pastoral staff to support and empower, removing barriers to learning through an inclusive curriculum which is tailored to the needs of all of our students. This work is strongly underpinned by high quality teaching and all staff understand the pivotal role that they play in creating a supportive environment. The Learning Support Team have expertise in the four key areas of need and take a personalised approach, understanding how factors may impact our students in different ways and change over time. We are fully invested in our motto, ‘the whole child is our whole point’ and we maintain a whole-school approach to inclusive practice and pedagogy and prioritise support and training with our staff to achieve this goal.
