We regularly invite guest speakers into school to inspire students and take them beyond the curriculum. For our sixth formers, these talks can provide valuable insights into university courses and careers.

Recent speakers have included live online lectures from Durham University on Black History and The Sociology of Egyptian Mythology, Goldsmiths University on The Sociological History of the Pink Pound, a Criminology lecturer from University of Kent, a Professor of Psychology from Kings College London on the Psychology of Health Scares, and a writer specialising in Queer History in Gothic Literature.  During Science Week we welcomed a Research Fellow from the University of Portsmouth who gave an insight into palaeontology fieldwork in Brazil.

Media Studies students have enjoyed talks by Zoe Duerden, an edit producer for programmes such as The Traitors, Love Island and Gogglebox; Helen Ostler, a producer on The Last Kingdom and second director on Killing Eve, Fleabag and Rev; and Martin Webber, a BBC World Service journalist. We have also had online lectures about Media Production from Ravensbourne University, and about music videos from the BFI.
