We were delighted to welcome a group of aspiring chemists from Bishop Chavasse and Long Mead primary schools to take part in a Harry Potter-themed Science lesson.
Aided by our Year 12 Ambassadors and staff members the Year 5 pupils performed a series of experiments with great enthusiasm. They created a “Secret Snitcher Potion”, “Helious Potion”, “Growth Serum” and “Burnt Basilisk skin”.
All of the children were given a Potions booklet to take away and there was also the opportunity to complete some questions and a word search on Harry Potter spells.
To conclude their visit, the STEM ambassadors took them on a tour of the campus, and showed them the library, technology and art departments, the sports facilities and finally the dining room where they were treated to a drink and biscuits.
