Our Year 7 Rugby Team were crowned champions of the Sussex Rugby invitational competition this week.
The victory was even more impressive as it was the first time that the girls had competed together. The tournament had several established schools, with a total of 15 teams. The Weald team started off well in the morning matches, winning their pool, and all four games. This put them into the top tier competing for the Cup and overall winner's bracket.
The girls played even better in the afternoon, displaying determination and teamwork, which resulted in winning three matches and drawing one. Their overall record of 7-0-1 was enough to secure the Cup Championship!
A massive congratulations to all of the players and their coach Ed Stockbridge. They displayed tremendous grit, skill and class and should be very proud of their accomplishments and how they represented the school.
