We are thrilled that local writer and poet Nathalie  Abi-Ezzi will be mentoring these students and helping them develop their writing potential and we were delighted to be able to welcome her to the Tonbridge event where she engaged in lively discussions with the students.

The event was buzzing with energy; the passion for poetry among the students was inspirational and the breakfast provided a lovely opportunity for them to discuss their ideas and their excitement with their new roles.  Our wonderful outgoing Poet Laureates, Olivia from Sevenoaks and Isabella from Tonbridge shared their experiences and passed on valuable advice to the new Laureates.

The new Laureates, Ellie, Aimee, Julia, Sylvia and Anna (in Tonbridge) and Esther, Lydia, Evie and Mary (in Sevenoaks) were presented with notebooks to record their thoughts and poems.   We also said thank you to Olivia and Isabella, who have written and performed their poetry at different Weald events over this last year.  We hope that they continue to write and perform their work!
