Weald's Patron of Reading Sophia Bennett visited our two Campuses last week - where she helped Year 9 students with their creative writing.
The students have been working with novelist Sophia on a "very exciting project" which is due to be unveiled in May. Also, on the day of her visit, students jumped at the chance to meet Sophia in the Sevenoaks and Tonbridge school libraries. They asked questions about what it takes to be a professional writer, among other things.
School librarian Mrs Quinnell said: "Sophia also gave fascinating and inspirational talks to the year 9 students at both sites on the topic of 'Winning Like a Girl'.
"She referenced many of her favourite female artists and role models and showed us all how to harness our inner strength by striking a Wonder Woman pose.
"She spoke of the need to be comfortable in our skins and celebrate our individual unique qualities", Mrs Quinnell added.
