On 31 March students from Year 12 and 13 Further Mathematics took a trip to the Mathematics Gallery at the Science Museum in London designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. This beautifully designed gallery filled the students with both inspiration and amazement. Students wandered through the space and saw how Mathematics connects to all features of the real world. The gallery relays stories and objects designed by mathematicians spanning over 400 years.
Further Mathematics Students from 12D found the following parts of the exhibits particularly interesting:
Erica - The model that showed how air bent around a plane
Amy - The quantum computing chips and cryptography
Amber - Stephen Hawking’s work on black holes
Suhas - Isaac Newton’s notes on infinite series
